Sponser Sponsor British Cyclist Emma Trott
May 01, 2012
Swiss-based sports nutrition brand Sponser are proud to be supporting British cyclist Emma Trott for the 2012 season. After joining Dutch women’s team Dolmans-Boels this year, Trott is hoping to continue to make an impact on the continent.
Many of Trott’s team mates and fellow riders will be familiar with Sponser on the continent, but Trott becomes the first UK sponsored athlete. Developed in Switzerland, Sponser have been producing top quality products for over 20 years. The brand became available in the UK in February 2012 and has been a big hit in the UK market.
“A big goal for myself and the team this year is the team time trial world championships,” said Trott. “Although we don’t expect to win, we aim to put down a good marker for the future. We are a very young team but with very big ambitions. I love the team element of cycling and am also a big fan of time trials so this event is perfect for me.”
Trott, the 2010 British U23 Time Trial Champion, suffered a setback earlier in the year as she broke her collarbone, but is raring to go again now she is back to full fitness. Trott has been using Sponser products on her road to recovery, and also when she is in action while racing for the Dolmans-Boels team.
Trott joins the likes of tennis superstar Maria Sharapova and Ironman Ronnie Schildknecht as a Sponser-sponsored athlete.
Speaking of her new sponsors, Trott said: “The first thing I noticed about Sponser was the energy bars. Many other bars are just impractical when it comes to eating them on the bike, as they are too hard to chew on while riding, especially if going at a decent tempo.”
She added: “Sponser bars are a lot easier to eat, as they are soft and chewy. I’m also a big fan of the convenient Liquid Energy Plus gels, which have just the right caffeine kick. I love the natural fruit taste that Sponser products have, as this is something that to me often tastes fake with other products.”
Available in the UK from www.sponseruk.com, Sponser offer a range of energy and recovery drinks, energy and protein bars and gels. All of which set a new benchmark for nutrition, performance and taste, meeting the requirements of amateur through to professional athletes.
Sponser products are imported to the UK by Everest Sports, a new sports import and distribution company hoping to raise the bar of sports nutrition in the UK.
